    Description

You're bidding on an antique Sheffield (England) Electro Plate teapot...the intriguing engraved inscription makes this one stand out...in good condition.
From a local estate...see our eBay seller's list for more fresh finds.
"From St. Johns Cavalry Nov. 10th 1863" is engraved in the cartouche on one side (the other side is blank).  We don't know the historical significance, if any. Height is 6-1/2" at the handle and about 11" wide. Molded decoration consists of leaves and flowers. Marks include Sheffield Electro Plate above which is a number 5 and below which is 2122. See all the photos for the design, finish, inscription, marks and condition which is good with these factors to consider. No dents or dings. No disfiguring scratches. Considerable tarnish throughout...we didn't try to clean it. The dimensional leaf cluster finial is a bit loose as the nut holding it in place is an ill-fitting replacement. The 2 decorative bands on the handle to hide the seams (often wood or ivory) are missing. Otherwise it presents well and is in good shape.
