    Description

Rare, Antique 1920's / 1930's full set of art deco German coffee and tea pot set. Made by Wurttemburgischen Metallwarenfabrik or WMF which was taken over by Nazi Adolf Hitler during the war. Hammered Silver metal with Porcelain. Set includes Coffee Pot, Tea Pot, Sugar Bowl, & Creamer. Excellent Condition with no chips or cracks. Marked on the bottom of set is "DPH" which signifies Deatsches Reichspatent, meaning the items were patented prior to 1945, when the Deutsches Reich disappeared. This set was smuggled out of Germany by my Wife's Family escaping from Nazi/Russian Occupied Germany.
    Brief History:
    Hello,
I am a 77 year old survivor from Leipzig, East Germany. After 3 years of preparation, we escaped in 1948. My Father spent 3 years preparing our departure and had smuggled out some of our art items, paintings, books, stamp collection, and this 4 piece set. He managed to get them to his Brother in Berlin, West Germany.
It is rare to find an entire set, such as this, in the wonderful shape it is in, considering how far it has come. I feel it is time to pass things onto someone else to enjoy. Whoever becomes owner of these pieces of history, I wish them Peace and Luck in the Future.
