This is an awesome Bright Orange Slag Glass hen on nest covered candy dish or nut bowl.
The hen and nest are a creamy orange color. There are varying shades of deeper pumpkin orange and brighter creamier orange. TThe nest is a paler creamy orange around the sides and the contrast is stunning.
The hen has her head turned slightly and a split tail. The detail work in the glass is fantastic with tiny pin feathers and silky neck feathers to tiny eggs tucked under the hen's breast. The nest is ribbed. Has a wide flat edge with woven design.
Originally made as a candy dish. Makes an excellent jewelry and ring holder.
Stands appx 5" tall and is 6-1/2" long by 5-1/2" wide.
New and in mint condition.
An excellent example of hand made pressed glass.
