    Description

    GRIFFITH STADIUM WASHINGTON SENATORS LITHO
Up for auction is a black and white lithograph of Griffith Stadium in Washington, D.C.—Former Home of the Washington Senators.
This lithograph measures 16” high by 22” wide in total and is MINT condition.
The actual picture of the lithograph is 13” high by 19” wide and is “framed” by gold leaf with another 1-1/2” light gray border.
This lithograph would look incredible framed.
Based on the fine print in the lower left corner of the print, this lithograph was produced by The Sporting News Publishing Company in 1990.
This lithograph lists the seating capacity of 28,669 and first game on April 12, 1911.
The center of the lithograph shows an inside view of the stadium from above as if you were sitting directly behind center field.
Various areas of the field and outfield stands are marked where great individual and team feats were accomplished such as:
    1.
Sam Rice’s amazing catch in the temporary seats in the 1925 World Series,
    2.
    Mel Ott’s 10
    th
inning homerun off of Fred Schulte’s glove winning the 1933 World Series for the Giants,
    3.
    Lou Gering’s homerun in 1937 All-Star Game,
    4.
    Mickey Mantle’s 565-ft. homerun in 1953,
    5.
Cardinals Ken Boyer’s three hits and three defensive gems leading the NL to victory in the 1956 All-Star Game, and many more.
Please see the couple of scans of this lithograph.
THIS IS A MUST FOR ANY FAN OF OLD-TIME BASEBALL!!!
